Patients without a primary care doctor

Some patients have no doctor to certify care and complete the face-to-face visit. Here is what we tell their families:

Medicare requires a face-to-face visit with a doctor or nurse practitioner, within 90 days before or 30 days after home health starts. Some doctors make house calls. Ask us, and we will help you find one. That doctor is independent of Comfort Care, and the choice is yours.

Yes. Medicare allows physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, and physician assistants to order and certify home health.
How fast is start of care?
Usually within 24 hours of receiving the order. Call intake if the patient needs an urgent start.
